Calvary Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lakewood Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Calvary Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three matches.
Calvary Christian put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 56-13 win over Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jacob Drackett and Brogan Mcnab . Drackett had a great game and threw for 293 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.9% of his passes. Meanwhile, Mcnab did his best for the losing side, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Lakewood fell victim to Chaminade-Madonna's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 57-0 loss at the hands of the Lions. While losing is never fun, Lakewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Chaminade-Madonna is ranked second).
Calvary Christian's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Lakewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
