Basketball Recap: Cj Hall Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Flashes Win

Hilliard won the last time they faced Yulee and things went their way on Friday too. Everything went the Hilliard Red Flashes' way against the Yulee Hornets as the Hilliard Red Flashes made off with a 75-50 win. The Red Flashes pushed the score to 62-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets cut but never quite recovered from.

Hilliard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cj Hall out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine boards. The match was Hall's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ta'Veon Dunbar, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 24 points and three steals.

Yulee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Kirchner, who posted nine points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Gibbs, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Hilliard now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Yulee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilliard will welcome West Nassau at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Yulee, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Temple Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Temple Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.
