Softball Recap: Central Crossing Victorious

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Central Crossing and Grove City have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Comets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Greyhounds, sneaking past 2-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 two weeks ago.

Hayliee Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Central Crossing saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makayla Unrue, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Central Crossing's record is now 8-5. As for Grove City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Crossing will host Dublin Coffman at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Grove City, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olentangy Liberty at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
