Baseball Game Preview: Tippecanoe Red Devils vs. Miamisburg Vikings

The Tippecanoe Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Miamisburg Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tippecanoe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.

Miamisburg will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Tippecanoe extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Red Devils blew past Northmont 17-3. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Tippecanoe let James Merry and Preston Zumwalt run wild. Merry went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Zumwalt went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave Merry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Liskey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Tippecanoe always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Miamisburg nor St. Xavier made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Vikings came out on top against the Bombers by a score of 2-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Bombers: they've now won three in a row.

Reed Warner looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Miamisburg is 4-1 when Warner allows one or fewer hits, but 7-12 otherwise.

At the plate, Miamisburg saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Craiglow, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Andrew Hoerner was another, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Tippecanoe's record is now 21-3. As for Miamisburg, their record now sits at 11-13.
