Recap: Harlem Huskies vs. Belvidere North Blue Thunder
The Harlem Huskies pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Belvidere North by a score of 65-63. While losing is never fun, Harlem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 482nd, while Belvidere North is ranked 173rd).
Harlem's loss came despite strong showings from Bo Beehler and Tyce Koerner. Beehler scored 19 points, while Koerner scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Beehler's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Walsh, who scored 10 points.
Harlem are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Belvidere North, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harlem will take on Sterling at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sterling is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Belvidere North, they will head out on the road to face off against Belvidere at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Belvidere is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
