Baseball Recap: Wilmot Comes Up Short

Wilmot came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Elkhorn Elks, falling 8-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Elks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Wilmot saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Ruby, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Wilmot's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Elkhorn, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Wilmot is taking a road trip to square off against Shoreland Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pacers have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Elkhorn will be paying especially close attention to Wilmot's game: after Wilmot faces off against Shoreland Lutheran, they'll take on Elkhorn again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
