Basketball Recap: Hanover Comes Up Short

Hanover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 52-9 defeat at the hands of the Kit Carson Wildcats. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.

Journey Anderson was Hanover's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Kit Carson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Johnson, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Johnson's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Shay Rady, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points and five steals.

Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Kit Carson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-12.

Hanover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kit Carson, they will square off against Caliche at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
