Nixon and Palmview are an even 3-3-2 against one another since January of 2022, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nixon's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Nixon who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Mustangs got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Roma's three. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Nixon's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Roma are ranked 619th).

Nixon will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Palmview extended their winning streak to 11 on Tuesday. The Lobos' defense stepped up to hand Juarez-Lincoln a 1-0 shutout.

Nixon's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Palmview, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Nixon suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Palmview in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
