Football Game Preview: South Fork Bulldogs vs. Martin County Tigers

South Fork is 1-6 against Martin County since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with South Fork sitting on five straight victories and Martin County on four.

Last Monday, South Fork strolled past Suncoast with points to spare, taking the game 25-6.

Savannah Tatum had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 127 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 92 yards and one score on only 11 carries. What's more, she racked up 118.8 passer rating, the most she's had since back in March. Alyssa Inchierchiere was another key player, picking up 56 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

South Fork didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zeta Debiase and Callie Kiess.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Martin County had no problem doing just that on Monday. They blew past the Sharks 33-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Martin County had a senior duo take command as Calista Scornavacca threw for 131 yards and four touchdowns while completing 92.6% of her passes and Delaney Gribben picked up 47 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

South Fork's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.4 points over those games. As for Martin County, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.

South Fork strolled past Martin County in their previous matchup back in March by a score of 19-0. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
