Football Recap: Jake Trail Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sanford, West Grand was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Calhan Bulldogs 32-30. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

West Grand got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Trail out in front who picked up 141 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 32 yards. Blake Terryberry was in the mix as well, providing the Mustangs with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: West Grand was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 273 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

The victory got West Grand back to even at 1-1. As for Calhan, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Grand will welcome Front Range Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Calhan, they will host Crowley County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
