Basketball Game Preview: North Smithfield Northmen vs. Cranston East Thunderbolts

The North Smithfield Northmen will face off against the Cranston East Thunderbolts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Smithfield will be strutting in after a win while Cranston East will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, North Smithfield turned things around against Burrillville on Tuesday. They walked away with a 32-22 victory over the Broncos.

North Smithfield had a senior duo take command as Mya Silveira posted seven points along with seven boards and six steals and Raeghan Reilly put up 11 points. Silveira also set a new season-high mark in blocks with four.

North Smithfield smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Cranston East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Exeter-West Greenwich, falling 44-23.

North Smithfield now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cranston East, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
