Soccer Game Preview: New Waverly vs. Sealy

The New Waverly Bulldogs will venture away from home to take on the Sealy Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

New Waverly will bounce into Friday's game after beating Diboll, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. New Waverly was the clear victor by a 9-5 margin over Diboll on Friday. With the Bulldogs ahead 5-1 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sealy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Sweeny last Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sealy's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for New Waverly, they now have a winning record of 2-1-1.

New Waverly suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Sealy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point New Waverly was down 3-0.
