Basketball Recap: Joshua Rodriguez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Peachtree Academy over Scholars Guild Academy

Peachtree Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Scholars Guild Academy Spartans an easy 76-50 victory.

Peachtree Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Joshua Rodriguez, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 23 points. Caleb Jackson was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Peachtree Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Scholars Guild Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peachtree Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on New Creation Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Peachtree Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.7 points per game this season. Scholars Guild Academy also won't see the court for a while: their next contest is against Killian Hill Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
