Football Recap: Wildwood Falls to the Villages Charter in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Wildwood had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were dealt a 53-0 loss at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo on Friday. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Buffalo recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Even if they lost, Wildwood's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Mikai Smith with two.

A big part of The Villages Charter's win came down to the chemistry between Ja'Dence Kennedy and his top target Ja'Marian Clark. Kennedy threw for 176 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes while Clark picked up 50 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Wildwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 31-26 defeat against Leesburg on the 29th. As for The Villages Charter, they have also already played their next contest, a 38-20 victory against Lecanto on the 29th.
