They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 69-66 win over the Mundy's Mill Tigers on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since December 13, 2024.
Collen Woods and Christopher Johnson certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Woods went 6-for-7 from beyond the arc to rack up 19 points, while Johnson shot 60% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last eight games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Triplett, who posted nine points.
McNair's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Mundy's Mill, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
McNair and Mundy's Mill will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Mustangs see the court they'll take on Drew Charter at 7:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Mundy's Mill, their break will end when they face Salem at 7:30 p.m. on December 5.
