Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Titans vs. Horn Jaguars

The Centennial Titans will challenge the Horn Jaguars at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, Centennial didn't have quite enough to beat Braswell and fell 5-4.

Calvin Kniffen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Hayden O made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Nico Baltieri, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Jaguars on Thursday. Horn had just enough and edged out Molina 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Horn has posted since April 28, 2024.

Abraham Mart?nez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up six Ks.

Horn's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Centennial skirted past Horn 2-0 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Centennial since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
