Volleyball Recap: Dewitt Extends Winning Streak to Four

DeWitt waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Everett Vikings. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant DeWitt was: they took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-10, 25-4.

DeWitt can attribute much of their success to Natalie Clacko, who had nine aces and three digs. Those nine aces gave Clacko a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinn Rypstra, who had five aces and three digs.

They weren't the only good server: DeWitt was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. They are a perfect 6-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

DeWitt's win bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Everett, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, DeWitt will head out to square off against Mattawan at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Everett, they will welcome Grand Ledge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
