Volleyball Recap: Morrilton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Dover last Thursday, Morrilton came back down to earth. The Devil Dogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clarksville Panthers on Tuesday. The Devil Dogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13.

Clarksville can attribute much of their success to Nicole Zavala, who had six aces and three digs. Those six aces gave Zavala a new career-high. Addison Harkreader also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Morrilton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Clarksville, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Morrilton will face off against rival Heber Springs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Clarksville is set to square off against their familiar foe Pottsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
