Cuba extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Denale Sandoval. The Cuba Rams were the clear victor by a 61-40 margin over the Cottonwood Classical Prep Coyotes on Thursday thanks in part to Sandoval, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 boards. She has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Abriana Largo, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Cuba pushed their record up to 11-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-pointers: they averaged an imposing 8.67 threes in those games compared to only 8.67 in the others. As for Cottonwood Classical Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bosque the next time they take the court. Cottonwood Classical Prep will host Bosque at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Cuba will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th.
