Basketball Recap: DuVal Takes a Loss

DuVal has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bladensburg Mustangs. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Tigers came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Mustangs are ranked 247th).

DuVal's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Bladensburg, their win bumped their record up to 5-16-1.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers take on the Jaguars at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. DuVal knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Flowers likes a good challenge. Bladensburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
