Baseball Recap: Hamilton Takes a Loss

If Hamilton was feeling good fresh off their 16-4 takedown of Calipatria last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bobcats fell 11-6 to the San Jacinto Leadership Academy Lions on Monday. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Alex Velasquez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastion Soriano, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hamilton has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will head out to take on Temecula Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for San Jacinto Leadership Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Sherman Indian at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
