Basketball Recap: Grace Christian Comes Up Short

Grace Christian was the 71-67 winner over Wasilla when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Grace Christian Grizzlies took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wasilla Warriors on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Grizzlies came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Warriors are ranked 29th).

Grace Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 16-2. As for Wasilla, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Christian will host Palmer at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Wasilla, they will welcome Soldotna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
