Basketball Recap: Bartow Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bartow can finally bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 43-14 victory over the Lakeland Dreadnaughts. The Yellow Jackets' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Bartow's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elayna Hamilton led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Jalissa Foster was another key player, putting up nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Bartow was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Bartow's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Lakeland, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bartow will take on Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakeland, they and Tavares will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
