Recap: Fort Dorchester Patriots vs. Woodland Wolverines

The Fort Dorchester Patriots fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Woodland Wolverines on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wolverines 67-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Loss or not, Fort Dorchester got some senior leadership from Cazz Williams who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds and three steals and Bryan Bright who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Williams scored a full 38.1% of Fort Dorchester's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tony McGill, who scored seven points along with eight assists.

Fort Dorchester's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Woodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Dorchester will take on Summerville at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Summerville is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Woodland, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Porter-Gaud at 5:30 p.m.
