Soccer Recap: Union City Takes a Loss

If Union City was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of South Fulton two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Tornadoes fell just short of the Jackson North Side Indians by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Union City were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Jackson North Side apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Union City's goal came courtesy of Silverio Acevedo, who's now up to three this season.

The defeat snapped Union City's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record. As for Jackson North Side, their win bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union City will host Clarksburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Union City will be up against Clarksburg's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.71 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Jackson North Side, they will face off against Chester County at 5:30 p.m. on the 10th.
