Baseball Game Preview: Chartiers Valley Colts vs. West Allegheny Indians

Chartiers Valley hasn't had much luck against West Allegheny recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Colts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 4:15 p.m.

Chartiers Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Montour, falling 8-1. The matchup marked the Colts' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Chartiers Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Switala, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Allegheny). Their pitchers stepped up to hand New Castle a 12-0 shutout on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Hurricanes: they've now won six in a row.

West Allegheny's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Chartiers Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
