Preview: Oroville Tigers vs. Gridley Bulldogs

Oroville is 2-8 against Gridley since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Oroville Tigers will be playing at home against the Gridley Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. Oroville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1061st, while Gridley is ranked 299th).

Oroville suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Las Plumas. Oroville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-24.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Broussard, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Campbell, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, Gridley waltzed into their match on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 68-50 victory over Orland. 68 seems to be a good number for Gridley as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Oroville's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-10. As for Gridley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Oroville came up short against Gridley in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 60-56. Will Oroville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
