Softball Recap: Lutheran Northwest Wins Going Away Against Shrine Catholic

Lutheran Northwest had won three straight at home, but on Saturday they bumped their record up to 10-5 to make it four. Everything went their way against the Shrine Catholic Knights as they made off with an 11-1 win. For the Crusaders, this counts as revenge for the 11-8 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in June of 2024.

Lutheran Northwest got a massive performance out of Ember Sampson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Sampson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Conners, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Shrine Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the eight games prior), but Lutheran Northwest's pitchers proved too tough.

On Shrine Catholic's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jenna Ruhle, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lutheran Northwest will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Knights: the pair will be back at it again later today.
