Preview: Westside Christian Academy Eagles vs. Horizon Science Academy Dragons
Westside Christian Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Horizon Science Academy Dragons at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Westside Christian Academy will be strutting in after a win while Horizon Science Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Westside Christian Academy beat Horizon Science Academy 54-49.
Westside Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Calvin Cottenden, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Nate Taylor, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and four steals. Taylor hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Reid Guertin, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Horizon Science Academy suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were beaten by Cornerstone Christian 85-34.
Westside Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season. As for Horizon Science Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
Westside Christian Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Horizon Science Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, sneaking past 59-56.
