Football Game Preview: Rosa Fort Lions vs. Clarksdale Wildcats + How To Watch

The Rosa Fort Lions will face off against the Clarksdale Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Rosa Fort will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up six points last Friday, then bounced right back against Ripley on Friday. The Lions claimed a resounding 52-13 win over the Tigers.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Christian Alexander and Gregory Hargrow. Alexander rushed for 177 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.1 yards per carry while Hargrow gained 209 total yards and four touchdowns. Hargrow also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Rosa Fort is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Clarksdale entered their tilt with Byhalia on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Indians, posting a 42-8 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wildcats' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Indians are ranked 255th).

Clarksdale's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Rosa Fort, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Rosa Fort was able to grind out a solid win over Clarksdale in their previous matchup back in October of 2019, winning 14-6. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
