Softball Recap: Marple Newtown Beats Strath Haven for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Marple Newtown had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Strath Haven Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 back in April.

Ally Snyder tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nicole Semerjian, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Kirsten Adams was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs.

Marple Newtown's record now sits at 16-2. As for Strath Haven, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-7.

Marple Newtown has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Lower Merion on the 14th. As for Strath Haven, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 15-3 defeat against Conestoga on the 14th.
