Mt. Ararat faced Waterville in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Panthers, posting a 46-8 victory. Considering the Eagles have won five games by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the fourth in a row for Mt. Ararat, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.5 points on average over those games. As for Waterville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Mt. Ararat will challenge Cape Elizabeth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Capers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.67 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Waterville, they will host Yarmouth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
