Exeter Township will head out on the road to take on Cocalico at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Exeter Township is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

While Exeter Township's win against Governor Mifflin wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 17, 2025.

Mason Goodhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Jake Hafer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one stolen base.

Cocalico might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-1 to Manheim Central, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Barons: they've now lost nine in a row.

Exeter Township is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Cocalico, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Exeter Township has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cocalico struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Exeter Township was able to grind out a solid win over Cocalico in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Exeter Township since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
