Softball Recap: Marshall Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Marshall waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Paris Tigers by a score of 6-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 back in April.

Kyla Gustafson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, McKenzie Davis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Lauren English, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.

Marshall was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in four consecutive games.

Marshall's record is now 25-3. As for Paris, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-15 record this season.

As of now, neither Marshall nor Paris have any future games scheduled.
