Skyline's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs, sneaking past 11-10. This was a revenge game for the Thunderbirds: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Tuesday, they had to take a 10-2 loss.

Kory Anschutz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and eight unearned) runs off six hits. Anschutz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Ashley Spease was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Gaby Eubank, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

The victory got Skyline back to even at 1-1. As for Sylvan-Lucas, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Skyline will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cimarron at 4:00 p.m. on the 25th. As for Sylvan-Lucas, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-7 loss against Republic County on the 1st.
