It's playoff time, and Arnold had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Choctawhatchee Indians a 1-0 shutout on Monday. Give the Marlins' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Cooper Moss made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other pitching news, Jackson Ross looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

Arnold hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Arnold is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Choctawhatchee, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 17-14.
