Football Recap: Gaither Takes a Loss

Gaither was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 46-0 loss at the hands of the Alonso Ravens. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 55-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Carolyn Emanuel threw for 32 yards on nine of 18 attempts.

While passing duties were split, you can't argue with the impact Gabby Werr and Raya Deane both made on the game. Werr threw for 181 yards and four touchdowns while Deane threw for 70 yards and three touchdowns. That's the most passing touchdowns Deane has posted since back in March of 2024.

Gaither's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Alonso, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gaither will venture away from home to take on Newsome at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newsome's defense has only allowed 12.1 points per game this season, so Gaither's offense will have their work cut out for them. Alonso will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Plant at 7:30 p.m. on March 24th.
