Coosa took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders 34-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Coosa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Charlie Cannon out in front who threw for 173 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 44 yards and one touchdown. Those 44 rushing yards gave Cannon a new career-high. Another back making a difference was Xander Sledge, who rushed for 92 yards and one score.

Southeast Whitfield County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coosa will face off against Model at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Southeast Whitfield County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Murray County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
