Basketball Game Preview: Mesivta Mustangs vs. Pine Forge Academy Falcons

The Mesivta Mustangs will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Pine Forge Academy Falcons at 9:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mesivta is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Mesivta is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Wednesday with ease, bagging an 86-48 victory over The City School. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-24.

Mesivta got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tzvi Bril out in front who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Bril is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Dov Hirsch, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 boards.

Mesivta was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Pine Forge Academy lost to Mercy Career & Technical on the road by a 46-30 margin on Thursday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mesivta is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Pine Forge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything went Mesivta's way against Pine Forge Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Mesivta made off with a 57-32 victory. Will Mesivta repeat their success, or does Pine Forge Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
