Volleyball Recap: Westlake Victorious

Westlake's tournament run continued when they took on Tarkington on Thursday. The Chaparrals came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 2-0.

Chloe Kelly paced Westlake's offense, picking up nine kills. Kelly got some help from Clayton Kelly and her 22 assists. Geralynn Byers-Veal controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Tarkington lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Monica Rodriguez, who had ten assists and five digs. Presley Condra was another key player, getting nine digs and one assist.

Westlake now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tarkington, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Westlake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Pearland on the 14th. As for Tarkington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Episcopal on the 14th.
