The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Lake's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of Newton County by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hornets, who until this contest were averaging 2.88 runs allowed.

Trey Gray was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

Southeast Lauderdale's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.

Everything went Southeast Lauderdale's way against Lake when the teams last played back in February, as Southeast Lauderdale made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
