Basketball Recap: College Prep & Leadership Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

College Prep & Leadership Academy entered their tilt with Phoenix Academy on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Phoenix Academy Firebirds 59-36. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 23 points or more this season.

College Prep & Leadership Academy found their leader in sophomore MacKenzie Dumbuya, who went 9 for 15 on her way to 26 points. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for Dumbuya. Alexis Holmes was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory got College Prep & Leadership Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Phoenix Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

College Prep & Leadership Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Piedmont Classical at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Phoenix Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-25 defeat against Carver on the 9th.
