Valentine will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on the Chadron Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Valentine is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after opening their season on the road. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of O'Neill on Friday. Valentine just can't catch a break and has now endured eight defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Valentine had strong showings from Trace Buechle, who threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns, and Isaac Cronin, who picked up 68 receiving yards and a touchdown. Cronin got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of57 yards.

Chadron was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Valentine was taken down by Chadron 49-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bailey, who rushed for 195 yards and six touchdowns on only 13 carries.
