Baseball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Satsuma's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Satsuma's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They didn't even let the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals on the board, marking the Gators' second-straight 4-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-0 on Thursday.

Braxton Byrd and Micah Sullivan did most of the damage at the plate: Byrd scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Sullivan went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Sullivan a new career-high.

Satsuma is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for St. Michael Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
