Baseball Game Preview: Edmonds-Woodway Warriors vs. Archbishop Murphy Wildcats

The Edmonds-Woodway Warriors will take on the Archbishop Murphy Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Edmonds-Woodway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Edmonds-Woodway had taken Shorecrest down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Monday. The Warriors fell just short of the Scots by a score of 2-1.

Finn Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits.

At the plate, Edmonds-Woodway saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Declan Crawford, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Murphy came out on top against Cascade on Monday by a score of 9-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Archbishop Murphy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Edmonds-Woodway, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Edmonds-Woodway took their victory against Archbishop Murphy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
