Baseball Game Preview: Central Lake Trojans vs. Forest Area Warriors

Central Lake is 6-1 against Forest Area since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will welcome the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Central Lake took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Johannesburg-Lewiston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Trojans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cardinals a 2-0 shutout on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since May 13, 2025.

Meanwhile, Forest Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against St. Mary Cathedral, falling 12-0.

The win made it two in a row for Central Lake and bumps their season record up to 3-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Forest Area, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Central Lake skirted past Forest Area 8-6 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
