Basketball Game Preview: Manchester Red Hawks vs. Windsor Warriors

Manchester hasn't had much luck against Windsor recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Manchester Red Hawks will venture away from home to take on the Windsor Warriors at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Manchester's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Manchester is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Edwin O. Smith: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Manchester blew Edwin O. Smith out of the water with a 101-43 final score. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manchester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Sheets, who posted 30 points. The match was Sheets' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Will Oden-Tann, who put up 25 points.

Meanwhile, Windsor faced East Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Windsor might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 65-55 to East Catholic, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Windsor's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3. As for Manchester, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Manchester ended up a good deal behind Windsor when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 71-55. Can Manchester avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
