Basketball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Takes a Loss

Academy at the Lakes suffered their closest defeat since December 3, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors by a score of 42-39. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 44-43.

Seven Rivers Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Michael Johnston out in front who posted 13 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Nott, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

With the loss, Academy at the Lakes broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-10. As for Seven Rivers Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Academy at the Lakes will face off against Keswick Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will take on Berean Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
