Basketball Recap: Ovilla Christian Skates Past Alcuin with Ease

It was a Battle of the Birds when Ovilla Christian faced off against Alcuin on Friday. The Ovilla Christian Eagles blew past the Alcuin Hawks, posting a 75-38 victory. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Ovilla Christian was led to victory by Lyric White and Cooper Rogers. White went 10 for 13 to rack up 29 points and four steals, while Rogers posted 20 points along with five boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave Rogers a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Hallmark, who put up seven points and three steals.

Alcuin's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Spencer Smith, who earned 12 points, and Andrew Dunda, who had ten points.

Ovilla Christian pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points over those games. As for Alcuin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Ovilla Christian has already played their next contest, a 92-65 loss against First Baptist on the 4th. As for Alcuin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-27 defeat against Prestonwood Christian North on the 3rd.
