Basketball Recap: Woodbridge Takes a Loss

Woodbridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 52-18 defeat at the hands of the Polytech Panthers. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.

Polytech was led to victory by Sierra Henry and Saniya Skinner. Henry posted 12 points and seven steals, while Skinner went 5 of 9 en route to 14 points along with five assists and three steals. Henry is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of De'Janae Gibson, who put up nine points and three steals.

Woodbridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Polytech, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodbridge will host Seaford at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Polytech, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sussex Central at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
